This is Tae Bo, the real deal. 25 years ago, I created Tae Bo in my basement to work out, to get myself in shape. I was the No.1 martial art fighter in the country, Karate fighter in the country, but one day I found out that I didn't have cardio I needed to help me be a better champion.
One day my wife went out and bought a record, theme song to "Rocky". With the theme song on, I started punching and kicking to the music, and within two minutes I got cardiovascular tired. And listen, I trained very hard but I wasn't used to moving all the time to keep myself in a position and started focusing and I worked out to the music.
All of a sudden, within 6 months, my cardiovascular picked up. I went and showed her the excercise I created. And you know what she said? She said, "Billy, you should go show women that excercise. I believe one day it will be a big exercise to help women learn how to protect themselves and get their lower bodies in shape."
You know what? I went to a hair salon, there was a karate studio on the first floor, and a hair salon on the second floor. And the first floor, I went down and asked them if I could teach these excercises and they said yeah. I went down and came up and one day I showed them these exercises and they said, "Hey, can you do it two days a week?" That's how it started.
Let me tell you, a lot of people have copycatted of Tae Bo, I've seen all types of excercises - I don't have to mention any names, but you see people trying to do what I do. But it's not the real deal. Listen, this IS Tae Bo.
I am the creator of all the cardio punching and kick things you see out there. It's flattering to see everybody else do what I do because that shows one thing: It works. It proves this fact. It's sold over 35 million copies of videos because people knew, in order for them to get in shape, they needed to give some to get some. And all I'm telling you guys, listen up, if you want to change your body, change who you are as a person, it's not about chianging the body first. Change your mind, change your will, and watch the things that's going to happens to you.
